Dental Implants are the Most Natural-Looking and –Feeling Tooth Replacement Option
If you have broken-down or missing teeth, dental implants are a permanent, natural-looking and -feeling solution. A dental implant is a titanium post that replaces the root of a missing tooth. The implant supports dental crowns, dental bridges or dentures. When placed and fitted properly, the crown, bridge or denture feels, looks and functions like your own natural teeth. Implant-supported replacement teeth are the strongest, most lifelike and durable option available. Because the dental implant procedure doesn’t affect any of your healthy teeth, it is a conservative treatment option for replacing missing or broken-down teeth.
The entire implant procedure is performed right here in our office. Dr. Strickland uses advanced technology, including 3D implant planning software and a CT scanner, to plan out the proper placement of your implants and how the replacement tooth or teeth will fit into your bite. You will receive precise, efficient and minimally invasive treatment.

Same-day dental implants
Advanced technology and the latest implant procedures allow Dr. Strickland to place dental implants and provide you with a fully-functional crown, multiple teeth or full arch of replacement teeth in one day, provided there is sufficient bone support. If the implant isn’t quite stable enough to handle chewing pressure, Dr. Strickland will place a temporary cosmetic restoration (something used to restore or replace a tooth or teeth) that is lifelike and aesthetic.
Dental implants have many advantages and benefits over other types of teeth replacement. The biggest advantage is the fact that an implant replaces a tooth root, acts like a tooth root and can handle the same chewing pressure as a tooth root. Traditional dentures cannot handle normal chewing power and will prevent you from eating all of the foods you want.
An important benefit of dental implants is that they transfer the pressure from chewing into your jawbone, which in turn, promotes bone growth and preserves bone volume and density. Without this pressure, bone loss will occur.
Another huge advantage is the fact that you can have a tooth, or multiple teeth, replaced without affecting the adjacent, healthy teeth. There is no cutting-down of healthy teeth, as with a traditional crown or bridge. In this sense, Dr. Strickland considers implants the most conservative treatment for tooth replacement. His approach is to keep all of your teeth as healthy and natural as possible.
Dental implants are durable and long-lasting. Where traditional dental bridges and crowns can last several decades, dental implants and their restorations, when cared for properly, can last you a lifetime.
Advanced diagnostics using digital technology
Our dental implant procedure begins with a comprehensive exam. During this exam you will receive digital X-rays, as well as any digital photos Dr. Strickland needs.
You will also receive a dental 3D CT scan of your jaw and lower face. The images from the 3D CT scanner will provide Dr. Strickland with very sharp 3D 360-degree views of your teeth, the bone levels in your jaw and the surrounding anatomy. The images provide Dr. Strickland with critical information needed to create a precise treatment plan.
Using the digital images and scans, Dr. Strickland can virtually place the implant using special software. He will map out the precise length, shape, angle and placement of the implant. These images will also help him determine if bone grafting is needed to augment lower bone levels or density.
Dr. Strickland will create a custom surgical guide to aid in the precise placement, angle and depth of your implant. The guide fits over your dental arch. It has pre-drilled holes that the doctor uses to get the exact placement and angle in which to place the implant, in order to take advantage of the densest bone. Using this guide makes the procedure more efficient, accurate and minimally invasive.
Efficient and comfortable procedure
Our doctors and staff specialize in giving every one of our patients a relaxed and anxiety-free environment. Before the implant surgery begins, we will make sure you are comfortable. We’ll give you a blanket if you’re chilly and you can watch television. Because Dr. Strickland uses a surgical guide, the procedure is very efficient; the surgery has been pre-planned so everything moves smoothly. If you tend to be anxious during dental procedures, we offer several types of sedation.
If there is insufficient bone to support the implant, Dr. Strickland will perform a bone graft procedure before placing the implant. If any extractions are necessary, he can do the bone graft at the time of the extraction. Dr. Strickland uses the best materials in order to get the best, most predictable results possible.
Natural-looking, high-quality new teeth
When your implant surgery is complete, you will be fitted with aesthetic, durable, temporary teeth. While the implant heals, your final teeth will be created in the lab that Dr. Strickland has chosen because of their high credentials and expertise. This lab produces high-quality, durable and aesthetic teeth restorations that look natural.
Dr. Strickland places the permanent teeth, making sure the fit, feel and function are perfect. He will check the aesthetics of the teeth, ensuring the new teeth blend in with your natural teeth. He’ll also ensure your bite is perfect after incorporating the new teeth. When both you and Dr. Strickland agree that the new restoration looks and feels completely natural, you’ll have a beautiful new smile with teeth that can last a lifetime.
