Michelle Windom RDH has helped patients enjoy better oral health for over 15 years. She originally trained as a dental hygienist at Manatee Community College and continued her education to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from St. Petersburg College. She has since refined her skills and knowledge in the field with countless continuing education courses including the Mercy Mastery Leadership Program, Dale Carnegie training, Advanced Periodontal Instrumentation as well as completing the Total Immersion Patient Experience provided by the TOPS Institute. She originally trained as a dental hygienist at Manatee Community College and continued her education to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from St. Petersburg College.
Michelle is always in search of new hygiene techniques and products she can use to deliver advanced, outstanding care to our patients. She particularly enjoys building personal connections with her patients. She loves having the opportunity to work with our patients so she can get to know them and cheer them on as they improve their dental health.
Michelle is passionate about patients who have dental fear and anxiety. She believes in a “judgement free zone”. Her perspective is that it’s not where you’ve been, it’s where you’re at that matters. She prides herself on being the type of oral healthcare provider that doesn’t lecture her patients about flossing or deficits in their home health habits; instead, she likes to find out more about her patients such as what’s important to them and then come up with an oral healthcare routine that is tailored to their wants and needs.
After working together for many years in the past in both practicing dentistry and at training events and seminars, Dr. Strickland is thrilled to welcome Michelle back to his team at Strickland Family Dentistry because “she brings a unparalleled professionalism and passion to dental hygiene” as well as almost two decades of invaluable practical experience and a forward-thinking approach to her craft. When she’s not working, Michelle is a “foodie” and enjoys cooking all types of foods, tending orchids, fishing and spending time with her two grown children and friends.
